Apple Inc. What Needs To Be Released in 2016

Apple Inc. has some outdated products still for sale- time to bring out the new devices Apple Inc.

Mac Pro

I thought we would start with the big one.

The Mac Pro - the elite Mac Pro in my mind.

It is very powerful and is brilliant for the size of the computer.

It needs a new version, the current version was launched in November 2013.

More ports required from two processors and more GPUs required.

Mac mini

The Mac mini has become the laughing stock of the iMac and the Mac Pro.

The Mac mini is now geared towards the introductory Mac of the lineup.

It starts at £399 (GBP) or $499 (USD) and is fitted with an array of dual-core i5 to i7 processors, no quad-core processors.

There used to be a Mac mini server, but this has been pulled as well due to Apple Inc. increasing support for white box rendering and serving.

Thunderbolt 3 and a low power Intel quad-core would be a good step up for the higher end of the Mac mini range.

iMac

The iMac is a bit of a different beast.

There is a 4K 21" version and a 5K 27" version; both of these iMacs are excellent.

Some of the hardware is outdated.

The flash storage needs to be the latest NVMe flash storage.

The processors should be cutting edge Skylake.

The graphics should be pushing the boat out along with the cooling systems.

My main gripe with the iMac is the lack of Thunderbolt 3 ports.

There are two Thunderbolt 2 ports of the back of the current top of the range iMac 5K 27" computer, which is not enough.

MacBook

This is a truly exceptional computer.

The above does not mean a few updates and upgrades would not go a miss!

New greater power density batteries, greater storage bandwidth, two Thunderbolt 3 ports would be spoiling every user.

MacBook Air

The MacBook Air needs to do something better than the MacBook - it needs to be more stylish, more practical, more powerful, more of everything than the MacBook.

It does not do this and has not done this since the MacBook was released.

THe MacBook Air needs everything to be new!

Low power consumption, high capability Intel Skylake processors, greater battery density and the latest networking capabilities with the potential for a cellular capability.

Two Thunderbolt 3 ports.

MacBook Pro

New Intel Skylake processors are required to boost performance and bring it above the competitors.

New DDR4 fast low power RAM.

Latest Intel NVME storage systems.

Two or four Thunderbolt 3 ports depending on the level of processor and the graphics.

Reintroduce a 17" version with dual graphics for professionals.

Dual GPUs configured in the same way as the Mac Pro - one for graphics, one for compute rendering.

That is my quick list of what Apple Inc. needs to be brought to the launch events in 2016.

If it does not do all of this, there will be problems for some users who need the new power to keep up in rendering, compute task, editing, photo production and many other professional tasks optimised on the Mac OS X platform.

It is not an option to move to Windows or Linux.
